Pherri Carpet Indigo carpet This is our first neckwarmerpherri (Ladakhi) name for this heritage textile This carpet is made from hand spun beige and white sheep wool yarn with small designs of indigo dyed sheep wool and the rare beige yak wool. It is woven in the traditional Changthang style, on a portable backstrap loom characteristic for the nomadic communities. This type of carpet is called "Pherri" and traditionally used as a blanket.
