The edge on the hoe is slightly sharpened and so it scrapes and cuts soil beautifully. The handle is Japanese White Oak and the head is high carbon steel with a fine cutting edge. The blade has a tang that goes up into the handle and is fastened securely with a pin and steel collar. The blade can be sharpened if you nick a rock.
