It was in the beginning of the 19th century when the Benedictine monks from Sicily crafted the secret recipe for Averna Amaro. In 1868, one of the monks gifted the secret recipe to Salvatore Averna, a textile merchant. He began making it in his family farmhouse and passed it down to his son, Francesco Averna. Everybody knows royals know a good tipple when they see one (and theyre not shy to consume larger than
