Queen Bee-Purdue Mite-biter (aka Indiana Leg-Chewer) Local Honey We are now a part

We are now a part of an initiative with both Purdue and Penn State Universities breeding bees that bite the legs off of the varroa mites which have been plaguing them

They are very hygienic showing brood removal when we test them using UBO or Buchler (pin-killed brood see below pic) assays

and overwintering in tight clusters

Note: this queen does NOT include shipping cost

Bob Carpenter (below) selected redline bees for leg chewing back in 2015

Queen Bee-Purdue Mite-biter (aka Indiana Leg-Chewer) Local Honey We are now a partMite biters queens have their origins at Harpur Bee Lab at Purdue University, our stock is derived from these genetics. They tend to be darker and produce more propolis. Honey production tends to be over 100 pounds, and overwintering in tight clusters. They are very hygienic showing brood removal when we test them using UBO, sometimes Harbo (reproducing mites in cell) or Buchler (pin killed brood) assays. UPS Next Day Air is the only option for
