If you are able to use a selection of the cards that cheat things in with a range of threats that have a sufficient overlap with each other and the support you need to use then you can make a combo deck that is considerably more consistent than any thing else with a combo bent possible in singleton

However, one of the dangers with a mechanic like this one is that it inherently gets much stronger the more cards they print with it

Soul Sear was already a borderline playable Standard card (and people have been playing Rending Flame to deal with Sheoldred recently), and Rebel Salvo is just almost strictly better than both of those cards
