Equipment-heavy decks that contain Puresteel Paladin, Sigardas Aid, and Cloud, Planets Champion can also get a big kick out of Slash of Light if used correctly
The most important aspect of the card is that a three-mana 3/1 with menace is a decent rate on its own, which makes it easier for this card to find a home than Compy Swarm
Some would also argue that a good token commander can always get by without the ability to generate tokens if it has a strong enough payoff like Purphoros, God of the Forge, and theres plenty of evidence that aligns with that school of thought
Neither is common in this deck, but it's nice to have options
