They can be played alongside high-cost cards in order to spend your extra ink and develop your board, they can get buffed by a Support character like Rolly and become a cheap way to trade up into bigger threats, and Lucky can discover them when you use his ability Good as New, making them more valuable in your deck than in your hand
On top of that, Jafar has used his Snake staff in many of his cards, and even turned into a Dreadnought Snake form
Players need to have a deck of at least 60 cards, some cards will be used as Ink to power the spending engine to get new cards into play, and characters can either go on Quests or challenge (fight) other exerted characters in an opponents play area
Add two more Merlin, Goat cards and three more Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo cards - up to your decks maximum - and you could be looking at a lore windfall from that combo alone
