To get a mana advantage out of the card you have to pay two life however the strength of the card is not so much that you can be one mana better off than your opponent over an exchange but that you can make the exchange when you have no spare mana

Thanks to the EDH precon, we have a lot of new ways to play with counters and add stun counters to other creatures

Many times, mana rocks are caught up and destroyed in mass removal that destroys all artifacts even when no one wanted them gone
