Ward 4 is an absurd level of protection - players wishing to target Kappa Cannoneer with removal spells will need to pay five mana at a minimum to do so without it being countered, and that's assuming the removal spell only costs one mana
Turn 5 dredged back Stinkweed Imp and binned Fauna Shaman (The Fittest Elf)
Sea-Dasher Octopus is fine for adding more redundancy and can play nicely alongside countermagic, giving you something to flash in when your opponent doesnt cast anything you wish to counter, but is definitely a bit clunky and expensive, and its painful to draw more than one copy of the Octopus early as a result
The first aims for an inexorable long game, carefully timing blink spells to safely reuse ETB effects, often countering single target removal or turning evenhanded board wipes into events where you come out far ahead of the rest of the table
it lives up to its name, but personally, I dont like those odds
[5] : 52 Since a deck may contain four copies of any non-land card, a player could have four Black Lotus cards in their deck, providing a significant advantage in the early stages of the game
