I think that having disruption makes the game more interesting: you have to account for it when deckbuilding (dont play a deck with 35 Items if Item lock is popular!), and it offers ways to make the game less straightforward than a simple Prize race
I would guess it wont be good enough, here, but maybe it will find a home in some kind of token deck

A 2/2 for two mana isnt a great deal or anything, but it is quite the long-standing tradition of defining beatdown in Magic: The Gathering and being an instant makes for substantial ups
What is there not to like here
The Mishra precon does have quite a lot of colorless artifacts, some of them Im not really sure why theyre in that deck, but Ive got one pre-ordered so Ill see how it plays out of the box
