19th C Leather Lace Guards for Spur Straps on Cavalry / Military Boots april24 Weight : 293g (10¼oz)A pair of brown leather lace guards made of two layers of leather with fine stitching. They have two central slots with fine stitching around their edges. Spur straps would pass through these slots so that the guards could be positioned over the laces of military field bootsThese guards are curved and quite rigid, they are probably 19th Century , later examples (such as those used in WWI) are usually simple single layers of leather with no stitching
