IM2.5 Suspension Kit - Medium ford ranger raptor but not without its issuesThe aluminium advantage Aluminium is lighter than steel; in fact, the IM2. 5 offers a 30% weight reduction over a twin tube steel shock absorber. Additionally, the use of aircraft grade 6061 T6 aluminium in the IM2. 5 offers improved cooling, which in turn means a shock absorber that can run harder, for longer, without diminishing its performance. Aluminium is known for its improved heat management and has four times the thermal conductivity of steel.
