It was a limited edition of 1000 copies It has red cloth boards with gilt decoration. The ends of the spine and the corners are a little bumped. The spine is faded There is a little foxing throughout. There are eleven hand coloured illustrations by N. H. Baird. The Rev. John Russell was a famous sportsman and a founder member of the Kennel Club, he bred the original Jack Russell Terriers
