Herend Golden Laurel Tea Cup Bernardaud as seen in the conchThis pattern was originally created for use at Buda Castle (also known as the Royal Palace) during the reign of Francis Joseph I who was Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary. Initially created in the 1870s, it consisted of a golden laurel wreath branch and bore the monogram of Francis Joseph as well as the Hungarian Crown.
