A 17th Century Steel Curb Bit - Bit956 print Ref : whip1410This bit is made of steel. It has a dark aged patina with a little surface oxidation. The mouthpiece is jointed. The cheeks can turn. Their shanks are curved with decorative pads extending downwards from the mouthpiece. They have holes which would have held cheek bosses or badges. One cheek has the remains of shackle chains. Dimensions : mouthpiece 12cm (4"), cheeks 21cm (8") Weight 334g (11 oz)
