Rich black enamel on 15ct yellow gold with a central front glazed panel under which is a lock of plaited blonde hair. The words in fancy gothic script In Memory Of surrounding the glazed panel. The back is inscribed with the name John Cairl, died Aug 1837. We don't know how old John was when he died but his bright blonde locks suggest not too old. He died just months after Queen
