They usually live in small groups consisting of a male. female and their young. They will build nests to protect them from the cold and predators. In streams and rivers, they will build a tunnel along the banks in which the entrance is underwater. They feed on cattails and other aquatic plants. This muskrat is feeding on the branches of a
