An Antique South American Gaucho Bit - Bit746 spurs there was a tradition inThis bit dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. The iron or steel mouthpiece has a dark patina. It has a high port with a flat roller on each side. The bit has brass cheeks with cast floral and foliate decoration on each side of the mouthpiece. There is a swivelling curb rein ring on the end of each cheek and a jointed brass shackle or slobber bar. It is Argentine or Uruguayan.
