Honestly, I think that if Watchers of the Dead had better stats or if it was simply a Tormod's Crypt on a grizzly bear body it would probably be playable

Both mediums are consistent when it comes to Standard, Draft and Sealed (played mostly at Prerelease events)
While Id never use art as a justification for why a card is great, its also worth pointing out that Dominik Mayer understood the assignment and absolutely killed it as usual

The trick with this one is to cast the spell and say as long as none of the damage is coming at me or my cards, you get to choose the targets for the spell cast. But be sure to retain rights to control who gets hit if it looks like they are running away with the game
