These decks would presumably use something like Shuko or an il-Kor creature that can be used for free repeatedly in a turn to trigger his static ability

These auras work to make your creatures a pain to remove from the battlefield while also increasing their power and toughness, so they hit your opponent much harder

Of course, Ascension today doesnt seem as grand given the formats distaste for Evolution cards, but the new Phantump provides an automatic path to Trevenant XYs Item-locking Ability

This goes double if their abilities synergize with other cards those decks are playing
