Regardless of who you partner with Esior, it gives your commanders a bit of protection by making all spells targeting your commanders cost three mana more
It's relatively powerless against decks that use +1/+1 counters, but in those cases, I give up and clear the board with a board wipe
Or something else
It reminds me a lot of Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer in that both cards seem to be the absolute peak of what you could expect for their respective mana costs
They also have seasonal products for holidays, like Christmas and Halloween, that are great for feeling festive or scratching that collector's itch
The ability itself is fun, it encourages combat and sacrifice strategies, makes for great support for any archetype that benefits from your own creatures dying and it's, in my opinion, a good addition to the game
