Alone With King Kong is a folky indie rock band from Metz / France and reminds of The Shins
The range of tonal colors he conjures from his extremely vintage battery of drums & shakers —as distinctive a sonic signature as we have in contemporary acoustic drumming— bring almost folkloric qualities to the aesthetic currency of the IVtet's language
embraces the illusory dichotomy between static and active in the dense electronic foundation with ornate microtonal lines that alternately float atop and burrow within the churning tumult
In the words of Emma Warren:
is that muffled street symphony inside a passing daydream
VOYEUR'S MARKET - songs o' yule LP Emo Alone With King Kong isOne sided 6 track 12" EP 45RPM Limited to 200 copies on RED vinyl with handmade covers, insert and Christmas gitft tag stickers. While Songs O Yule is indeed Christmas music (and we here at MTS HQ stand firmly on the THUMBS UP side when it comes to said genre), the six songs written, performed and recorded by Pridham are above all incredibly infectious bedroom pop with nods towards 80s UK indie, 90s US garage rock and the more minimal 80s post punk
