It features an octopus. The coin was attached to a reclaimed copper backing that has been patinated to a deep black. This coin has become very scarce and therefore hard and expensive to find. The octopus is one of the most fascinating creatures in the world. There are around 300 known species of octopus, all eight limbed molluscs of the the order octopoda.
