Volunteer Reserve Service HAC Miniature Medal Category_Long & Meritorious Service without rankThe Volunteer Reserve Service Medal or 'VRSM' was Instituted in 1999 to replace the Royal Naval Reserve Decoration, the Royal Naval Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, the Efficiency Decoration, the Efficiency Medal and the Air Efficiency Award. At the same time the period of service was reduced to 10 years. This is awarded to all ranks of the reserve forces.
