Little Gem is a dwarf vine maple that was discovered as a witches broom on a vine maple. Witches brooms result in dense foliage, and as a result, the Little Gem maple grows into a compact rounded shrub to about 3 feet high. Little Gem has small orbicular leaves about 1 in size which emerge light green in spring and turn to a darker shade by summer. Fall color is orange turning to fiery red. Little
