The glass dome lid lifts off the base and it too is in excellent condition

with a quarter sawn top and kick outs to the bottom of each leg

Spinning bench Single beds late 18th centuryA curious little bench with a very well made large cog mechanism on one side; the wooden handle turns, very smoothly, to rotate the top metal rod. The patina is particularly beautiful. We aren't quite sure what this was used for so would welcome any suggestions! Heavy and solid. From the Loire Valley.
