Yola is powerful and rich
and salivating acidity to brighten up the soft tannic grip underneath it all
The fruit profile is ridiculously perfect - a composition of savory black plum
Velvety but marked tannins
Deep red in the glass
2002 Robert Ampeau et Fils Meursault 1er Cru La Piece Sous Le Bois 750mL Shelbyville Yola is powerful and richA seamless and focused wine, showing both class and mineral depth, framed by silky, perfectly ripe fruit. Theres a marvelous sense of youth here, with tension and freshness balancing the richness. Layers of citrus, stone fruit, and subtle hazelnut evolve with air, leading to a long, precise finish. A striking example of aged Meursault in peak form.
