peach and honey
The wines were matured in oak for 18 months
The Willamette Valley bottling shows such freshness and bright fruit with tart cranberry aromatics balanced by a squeeze of blood orange and dusty red brambles
The grapes were placed in tank and cold soaked for two days before a 14-day fermentation along with 14 extra days of extended maceration
The palate is intense but velvety
J.K. Carriere - Vespidae Pinot Noir 2023 (375ml) Contrieu peach and honeyThe robe she wears is a lovely vivid red. The clean, fresh, airy nose throws spicy cherry orange, molasses chip, French tarragon, and cigar box. On the palate its a balanced composition of serious attack (pie cherry, stonefruit, raspberry) and a mouth fairly dripping (acid, pink cake, sarsparilla). A bit mysterious and slightly reserved, its on off on structure shows tension and energy, but holds its cards back.
