most of the printed cottons made in English mills were used for clothing and based on floral designs or imitated the style of silk brocades

My inspiration came from ethnic ikat textiles with earth tones suggesting natural dyes

while the varied tones enhance the natural aesthetics

Inspiration was taken from traditional clothing and jewellery and transferred to the room as a new interpretation of colours and patterns
