The Maidens Lighthouse

Moville Size:40cm x 50cm (16” x 20”) 6 meters with a castMoville lighthouse, located on the northern shores of Lough Foyle, was established in 1861 to guide vessels entering the lough. Moville was historically an important port for transatlantic travel, with Glasgow steamships beginning to take on passengers from 1860. These large ships were dissatisfied with the small shore light and requested a stronger guide. As a result, the Londonderry Port & Harbour Commissioners agreed to build a large pile light
